Groom Lake Road
Groom Lake Road is approximately 13 miles long as runs from Highway 375 (the Extraterrestrial Highway) and passed the Front Gates of Area 51.
While this road is extremely well-maintained, it has been suggested that they specially grade the gravel to create a large dust cloud when you drive–so that you can be easily spotted from long distances. If that wasn’t enough, there are also several hidden ground sensors along the road that can detect when vehicles pass.
Some people have even reported that Area 51 border security, known as the Cammo Dudes, patrol the Groom Lake Road every hour–maybe that’s why they have license plates. If you plan on camping anywhere near Groom Lake Road, you will likely get a visit from the border guards.
From this road you can get to Campfire Hill, Hawkeye Hill, the Front Gates, and Mailbox Road.
