Bald Mountain Surveillance Facility
Bald Mountain is at the high point of the Groom mountain range, and lies far beyond the borders of Area 51. Because it contains a lot of radar and communications gear, many people suspect that it is the communications hub for the Groom Lake base–and especially for Area 51 border security (known as the cammo dudes).
The site is unmanned, and inaccessible by roads; however, observers have noted the base being serviced by helicopter. Many people also suspect that Bald Mountain uses high-magnification-remote-tracking cameras to watch vehicle traffic on HWY 375 and Groom Lake Road.
